Malcolm & Foxes

BBC

New Time Lord Peter Capaldi, just might pick up a new nickname, “Doctor Rude”, according to a recent interview.

It seems the Doctor Who star is likely to be nicknamed a rude Doctor by kids because he shares traits with Capaldi’s The Think Of It character Malcolm Tucker.

Who boss Steven Moffat, 52, revealed Capaldi will be very different from his polite and mild-mannered predecessor Matt Smith, 31. The Doctor will actually shares traits with the star’s character from BBC comedy The Thick Of It. He said: “Peter will still be very much The Doctor.

“He has a tremendous ability with throwaway humour and a lot of it is around the fact that sometimes he is terribly rude.

“I think kids will think he is the rude Doctor.”

Moffat also told SFX magazine that this Doctor won’t be up for any hugs, he said: “You might want to cuddle him but he really will resist.”

Sounds a bit like the much panned-at-the-time Sixth Doctor, at least it does to me.

In an interview with Empire magazine, he said: “Certain things we were doing a little reflexively. Some of the humour was getting a bit glib.

“One of the hardest things to notice is when your new idea has become your old idea and it’s time to get rid of it.”

Pop star Foxes makes a special appearance in the new series of Doctor Who, but she would have turned down the role if it hadn’t involved singing in the TARDIS, claims the Daily Star.

The 25-year-old – whose real name is Louisa Allen – told the newspaper: “It’s more singing than acting, that’s why I’m doing it.

“Acting isn’t something I thought I would get into.”

The singer also hinted at a little crush on new Who star Peter Capaldi, adding: “I know I’m biased but I like that he’s a charming silver fox. Sod it, he was lovely.

If anyone can spot a fox, it’s Louisa…

“I couldn’t think of a better place to make my acting debut than on one of the UK’s most iconic shows.” (The Mirror)

JNT-style “stunt” casting? TARDIS Idol anyone??
