Sonic News

This is arguably the biggest Doctor Who toy news since the Funko Pop! vinyl figures were released in February of this year.

After losing his first sonic screwdriver, and having a fun run with the sonic sunglasses, Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor was given his second screwdriver by the TARDIS in the epic episode ‘Hell Bent.’ Well, according to a press release from BBC Worldwide, fans in the United States and Canada can now get their hands on their very own replicas of the device.

This model is the first of all of the sonic replicas to incorporate “four light modes and four sound effects” into its design. As a bonus “for a limited time only and exclusively on BBC Shop and BBC Doctor Who Shop,” those who purchase it will also receive three free “exclusive trading card packs from the Twelfth Doctor’s limited edition” (while supplies last). It is currently available in the following simply and symmetrically named internet retailers:

Doctor Who Shop US

BBC Shop Canada

Doctor Who Shop Canada

It is selling for $29.98 in the United States and $37.98 in Canada. All other markets are currently on pre-sale.
